BIOLOGY
The Department of Biology has a vision to become a prime centre for research and education in the field of Biodiversity Conservation, capable of supporting the development of human resources to compete at the national and international levels.
The department conducts four study programs, namely Bachelor, Master in Biology, Master in Marine Science and Doctorate in Biology.
There are seven Research Laboratories to support a wide range of research activities, i.e. Lab. of Taxonomy (Plant, animal, and Molecular), Lab. of Physiology (Plant, animal, and tissue culture), Lab. of Ecology, Lab. of Genetic, Lab. of Microbiology, Lab. of Developmental and Reproductive Biology, and Lab. of Marine Biology.
There are also support facilities available, such as the library, green house, orchid house, algae culture room, animal house, and the University of Indonesia Culture Collection (Culture and Collection of Microorganism).
The department provides a number of programs utilizing our expertise and experiences in biological science, such as consultation, training and sample analysis for the benefit to society.
