CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry, which was established in 1961, has a vision to be a centre of excellence for education and research in chemistry in order to support the development of knowledge and technology.
Five programs are conducted in the Department of Chemistry i.e. undergraduate (regular, non-regular, and extension; and postgraduate (master an doctorate) programs. The programs are supported by 10 Laboratories including Laboratory of Basic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry and Microbiology, Instrumentation, Research, as well as affiliations for providing analytical services, consultation and training for society educational institutions and industry. The Major equipment available in this department are GC (HP), AAS (Perkin Elmer, Jarel Ash), HPCL (Shimadzu LC6, and LC20), Spectrophotometer (Agilent 8453 dan Shimadzu), IR spectrophotometer (Hitachi), FTIR (Shimadzu), and Potensiostat (Versa Stat II).
The Department of Chemistry has 5 professors and 18 doctors among the staff of 30 lecturers. The department has also provides a library with computer and internet connection facilities.
