FMIPA UI Receives Software Donation from Schlumberger

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) received donations of software from Schlumberger. This software will be used for the purpose of developing knowledge in the process of oil and gas exploration and production.

Through the signing of a memorandum of understanding by the Chancellor of UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met., And Managing Director of Schlumberger Ronny Lawrence on Friday (13/4) in the courtroom A UI rector building software donation is done.

Dean of FMIPA UI Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris said that this agreement is established as a commitment of FMIPA UI facilitate the students, especially students of Geophysics through skills development support future oil and gas professionals in Indonesia.

“This is great, because geosciences, geophysics particular has an important role in maintaining energy security, especially in the search for hydrocarbon reservoirs beneath the surface”. Express it.

The software will be used by MIPA UI is Petrel G & G, PetroMod Basin Modeling, Techlog Petrophysical Analysis, Geox Propect Analysis, OFM Production Analysis and Reservoir Simulation (Petrel-Eclipse).

All of the software can be accessed at the FMIPA UI Computational Geology and Geophysics Lab Depok campus.

Haris explained, the software donation made by Schlumberger for the UI FMIPA was not the first time. Haris continued in 2012 and Schlumberger has donated E & P (Exploration and Production) software.
