Meritorious in Basic Science, Professor of FMIPA UI Wins the 2019 Habibie Award

Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum professor in chemistry at FMIPA UI won the Habibie Award for the XXI Period 2019 by the Science and Technology Human Resources Foundation (IPTEK HR Foundation), The Habibie Center at Le Merdien Hotel, Jalan Sudirman, South Jakarta on Tuesday (11/13/2019).

Chairman of the board of IPTEK HR Foundation, Prof. Dr-ing. Wardiman Djojonegoro assessed Prof. Ivandini is active and is instrumental in discovering, developing, and disseminating new knowledge, as well as contributing to the improvement of the welfare and prosperity of the nation through its knowledge and expertise.

Prof.’s latest research activities and findings Ivandini is about developing diamond synthesis technology in its application in the electrochemical field as sensors and biosensors for the detection of various chemical and biochemical compounds that are useful in health monitoring, monitoring industrial processes online and continuously, and monitoring environmental quality, which is expected to potentially improve the quality of health and the environment.

Through this research, he explored the development of behavior and the use of a very special material, namely diamond conductivity of electricity or often known as boron-doped diamond (BDD).

This topic, he studied consistently since 2000 when he became a doctoral candidate at The University of Tokyo, Japan, until now he continues with various developments.

The chemist revealed that he has produced several international patents, as well as several research results that have been registered to obtain the Right to Scientific Wealth (HaKI).

But as a researcher and lecturer, besides developing BDD applications, he also learned fundamental theory to produce around 85 publications and reputed international proceedings, as well as several publications in national journals.

The international publication which he successfully obtained has placed him as a researcher with the Scopus 23 h-index, which is currently one of the highest h-indexes at the University of Indonesia.

For their achievements, thoughts, and contributions, the professor and research manager and community engagement FMIPA UI received a prize of USD 25,000, a certificate, and a Habibie Award gold medal.

The Habibie Award is the main program of the IPTEK HR Foundation which has been held since 1999. The Habibie Award recipient was selected through the Habibie Award committee selection process and until last year there were 61 recipients.

Also attending the 2019 Habibie Award was the Minister of Technology Research Prof. Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro In his remarks Minister Bambang conveyed his appreciation to all award recipients.

He also expressed his desire to make the Habibie Award a prestigious award for researchers in Indonesia, as the best way to encourage researchers, especially for young researchers to remain consistent in their research fields.
