Partnerships and Alumni Relations

A. Ventura, Partnerships, and Alumni Relations have the following main tasks, that are:

  1. Organizing both academic and non-academic partnerships
  2. Regulating the movement of all faculty business unit that can increase the incomes
  3. Harmonizing and unifying research centers
  4. Organizing the role of alumni with various businesses in the form of agencies/institution partnerships and financial contributions.

B. Description :

Ventura Partnerships:

  1. Undertaken by faculty and departments in the development of science locally and globally
  2. Can be of consultancy services, training, and others that can increase incomes to the faculty for future development
  3. The next partnership that will take place is the Geospatial Information Agency in the form of training and consulting services partnerships
  4. Next partnership is a partnership in creating Mathematics and Science Olympiad training team
  5. The last partnership that will be conducted soon is the partnership with Lemtek UI regarding job activities.

Asset Empowerment

  1. Business units in the FMIPA are Bank Syariah Mandiri facilities, BNI ATM outlets, FMIPA Dallas Canteen, FMIPA Cafeteria, Dermaga-One restaurant, and student stores.
  2. Improvement will be made to the Dallas cafeteria, pier-one restaurant, as well as the addition of several restaurants, and Minimart.
  3. Revitalization Research Center.
  4. Revitalization activities Existing research centers in the form of Material Science Study Center (RCMS), Research and Business Synergy Center, Biodiversity Strategy Study Center (CBS), Mathematics Study Center, Computing and Data Analysis (PUSMAKA), Risk and Safety Study Center (PUSKA) RKL), Center for Marine Studies (PSK), Center for Applied Geography Research (PPGT), Center for Geoscience Studies (PSG), Center for CoE Nano Science & Technology Studies, Center for CoE Genome Studies and CoE Study Center for Indigenous Biological Resources, by positioning itself as part of FMIPA UI so that all activities of the centers are integrated into FMIPA UI.

YOKOGAWA Indonesia

In 2019, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia planned on the building of a physics laboratory in partnership with PT. YOKOGAWA Indonesia. During the process, both parties have conducted a meeting both at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia and PT. YOKOGAWA Indonesia on September 25, 2019.

On November 28, 2019, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia in partnership with PT LOREAL held a workshop and a job fair for students of the faculty. This event also included the selection process of potential employees.

Fauzi Bahar M.Si
Fauzi Bahar is an alumnus of the magister program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 2002. He worked as the mayor of Padang from 2004 until 2009 and got reelected in 2009. Before his leadership as the mayor of Padang in 2004, Fauzi was an Indonesian navy soldier ranked lieutenant colonel.

H. Suharna Surapranata, M.T.

Drs. H. Suharna Surapranata,
M.T. is an alumnus of the
Department of Physics of Universitas
Indonesia class of 1978. He is an Indonesian politician who once assumed the position of the minister of research and technology of Indonesia in the Second United Indonesia Cabinet during Former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s leadership. Suharna Surapranata received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Universitas Indonesia and his master’s degree from the Department of Physics of the Bandung Institute of Technology. He was also one
of the founding members of the Indonesian Society of Scientists and Technologists.


Terry Mart
Prof. Dr. Drs. Terry Mart
is a nuclear and particle
physicist who now works as a professor and lecturer at the
Department of Physics of Universitas Indonesia. He is one of the inventors of the D13 subatom and has published 117 journals on the prestigious international Physical Review Journals.


Dipo Alam
Dipo Alam, an alumnus of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 1978,
is a politician who one assumed the position as the cabinet secretary of the Republic of Indonesia in the Second United Indonesia Cabinet during Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s presidency. Prior to that, this former head of microeconomy was chosen as the Secretariat General of Developing Country
Organization 8 or D-8 in 2006, headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey. This former chairperson of the Student Council of Universitas Indonesia has worked for 25 years in the National Development Planning Agency and as the deputy coordinating minister of economy, which has a relation with international
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) like World Bank and Development Bank.


Asep Karsidi, M.Sc
Asep Karsidi, M.Sc is an alumnus of the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 1980 who now works as the chairperson of Geospatial Information Agency. Asep Karsidi started his career in the artificial rain project at the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology in 1981. He popularized the term “Weather Modifying Technology” and even aligned the quality of the Artificial Rain Technical Implementation Unit with institutions abroad by winning the international tender for Weather Modifying
Technology program in the mining concessions of PT. INCO in Soroako, South Sulawesi in 2004/2005.

Dr. Asep Karsidi was appointed as the chairperson of National Survey and Mapping Coordinating Agency in 2010. During his leadership, he created the Geospatial Information Bill in 2011. The National Survey and Mapping Coordinating Agency
was then renamed as the Geospatial Information Agency. Dr. Asep Karsidi also initiated the One Map Policy and the construction of Ina Geoportal as a platform for various stakeholders in the field of geospatial technology.


Lukman Hakim,M.Sc, Ph. D, Apt.
Prof. Lukman Hakim, M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt.
, an alumnus of the Department of Pharmacy of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 1979, was
the eighth chairperson of Indonesian Institute of Sciences. Prior to that, Lukman was the vice chairperson of the institution before the Minister of Research and Technology Suharna Surapranata elected him on June 14, 2010. He had the position until October 18, 2014.

Muhammad Budi
Setiawan, M.Eng
is an alumnus of the Department of Physics
of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 1987. He currently works as the general director of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology of the Ministry of Communication
and Information.


Sinta Sirait
Sinta Sirait received her
bachelor’s degree in mathematics and sciences from University of Indonesia in 1990. While
completing her graduate stud
y, she started working at the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce as the assistant to the chief economic officer. In 1994, she joined Freeport-McMoRan Inc. through their Management Training Program. The following year, she returned to Indonesia and later on became the senior manager of government relations at
PT. Freeport Indonesia (PTFI). In 2003, she
was promoted to
vice-president of government relations and became a member of the company’s Social and
Local Development Task Force.

Sinta is the founder of
SSConsulting (
www.ss-consulting.co), a consultancy in the area of human resource solution, strategic communication as well as sustainability. From mid 2014 to 2015, she served as the executive director of Indonesia Services Dialogue, a tri-sectoral dialog forum and coalition promoting growth and greater efficiency in the Indonesian services sector with the support of The Employers’ Association of Indonesia (APINDO) and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). She also served as ISD Chairwoman from 2015 to August 2017.


Yohanes Surya
Prof. Drs. Yohanes Surya, M.Sc., Ph.D. is an Indonesian
physicist. He is known as the
supervisor of Indonesian Physics Olympiad Team. Yohanes Surya is currently active in various training lessons of Easy and Fun Mathematics and Physics. Yohanesan alumnus of the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 1986. He is also a physics professor at Satya Wacana Christian University. Yohanes is a former dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Pelita Harapan University, is one of the founding members of the Mochtar Riady Institute, is a member of the board of trustees of
Assalamiyah Islamic College Banten, and was the rector of Multimedia Nusantara University.

Yohanes Surya was entrusted by the Indonesian coordinating minister for maritime and investment affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, as one of the expert staff since 2016. Some of the awards Yohanes has received include the Seputar Indonesia Social Transformer Award 2011, the Educational Figure of the National Professional Certification Board’s Competency Award 2011, and Soegeng Sarjadi Award on Good Governance 2013 in the category of Public Inspiration for Scientific Progress.


Darwin Silalahi
Darwin Silalahi is an alumnus of the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia. Since 2007, he has been working as the country chairman of Shell Companies in Indonesia and the president director of PT Shell Indonesia. Before that, he
has worked for 7 years as the country chief executive officer of Booz Allen Hamilton Indonesia, a globally renowned strategic management consulting agency.

As the chief executive officer of Shell Indonesia and the country chairman of Shell Companies in Indonesia since
2007, Darwin is often remembered as the first Indonesian to take on the higher roles in this Fortune Global’s top 500 Netherlands- and England-based company. During his leadership, Shell Companies in Indonesia has drastically
grown especially in the market of oil becoming an integrated energy-focused corporation with significant presence all over the nation. Currently, aside from being a market leader and the biggest investor among international oil companies in the downstream industry of oil and gas, Shell has emerged as a
main figure in the upstream industry.


Suharyo Sumowidagdo
Suharyo Sumowidagdo is an alumnus of Universitas Indonesia’s graduate physics program. He currently works as a research scientist at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of California Riverside as well as a collaborating member of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) of CERN (Conseil Européene pour la Recherche Nucléaire) or the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to that, he worked as the collaborating member of D0 at Fermi National Laboratory, USA.


Drs. Karliansyah, M.Si
Drs. Karliansyah, M.Si is an alumnus of the Department of Biology of the Faculty oathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia class of 1995. He works at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia as the secretary of the acting deputy II of pollution control.


Dr. Rasio Ridho Sani, M.Comm, MPM
Dr. Rasio Ridho Sani, M.Comm, MPM is an alumnus of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia. He has served as the deputy IV of the Management of Hazardous and
Toxic Materials, Hazardous and Toxic Wastes and Garbage at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia. He currently works as the directorate general of environmental and forestry law enforcement.


Tri Djoko Santoso
Tri Djoko Santoso is an alumnus of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia. He is also a well-known figure in IT and finance. He founded the Financial Planning Standards Board (FPSB) of the Professional Certification Institution in Indonesia in 2006. This institution has the licence as a certifier for exclusive financial planning in Indonesia from FPSB Global, headquartered in Denver, USA. He also currently works as the director of LN Consulting, USA.


Prof. Jatna Supriatna, M.Sc., Ph.D.

Prof. Drs. Jatna Supriatna, Ph.D. is an Indonesian zoologist and conservation biologist. He is also a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Universitas Indonesia. He presently assumes the role of chairman of Center for Climate Change Research at Universitas Indonesia. Jatna Supriatna is also a member of the Indonesian Academy of Sciences. Some of the awards he has received
include the “Golden Ark Award” from the Kingdom of the Netherlands for his service in natural conservation (1999), the “Habibie Award” in science (2009), and the “Ahmad Bakrie Award” in science (2011). Several taxons named after him include Draco supriatnai and
Cyrtodactylus jatnai.
