Student Achievers Selection Event of FMIPA UI Begins Today

Today, Monday (12/3) Student Achievers Selection Event (Pilmapres) Faculty of mathematics and natural sciences UI 2018 begins. The event took place at the building C of FMIPA UI was attended by Dean, Vice Dean I, Managers, Head of the Departments, and the Head of undergraduate programs in FMIPA UI.

The agenda of today is the presentation of the papers by the participants that is representative of each Department in the presence of the jury and the student who are supporters of the participants.

The participants are Grady Christianto & Andarlia Tiara Hanna represented the department of mathematics, Ade Ratna Tanjung P. & M. Risky Altaresh representing the department of physics, Shella Jeniferiani W. & Maria Magdalena represents the department of chemistry, Dhita Mutiara Nabella represents the department of biology, Yuniar Zweistika & Annisa Daniswara S. represent the Department of geography.

Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris as the Dean of the FMIPA UI officially opened the event most prestigious among the students. In his speech, he expresses pride his student, Yudhistira Oktaviandie who won the champion 1 Student Achievers event (Mapres) on the main level of the UI, and Champion II Student National level achievers last year.

As Dean, Haris motivate the students to more actively participate in academic activities, as well as various competitions. Not only at the national level, but must be able to penetrate the international level. To support it Haris conveyed to his staff to continue to encourage and monitor the progress and development of student education.

“Students who have academic potential should be prepared, need to be monitored, redirected to always participate (program and academic activities)”. Said Haris.

According to Haris, the FMIPA UI has several international academic field programs in cooperation with universities abroad. However he was assessing the student’s interest to engage in such activities is still very low. So just a little student who follows the cross-country events. Whereas, In fact, continued Haris, this is a good opportunity that should not be missed.

Before ending his speech, Haris gave spirit on his students in order to better create and innovate. In addition he hopes Pilmapres FMIPA UI Champion this year can then retain its position in the UI level and be a good role models.
