FMIPA UI Presents Recent Research Progress in Physics and Applied in ISSIMM 2018

Depok, December 4th, 2018, Universitas Indonesia through Physic Departement of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, held The 3rd International Seminar on Sensors, Instrumentation, Measurement, and Metrology (ISSIMM) 2018 at Margo Hotel, Depok until December 5th, 2018. Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris as The Dean of FMIPA UI officially opened this event.

ISSIMM 2018 is a fusion of the International Conference that exposes the latest research advances on Sensors, Sensor Systems and Actuators (ICSSSA) and International Seminars on Instrumentation, Measurement, and Metrology through the following topics:

  • Measurement and Control System, Theory, and Application
  • Instrumentation Systems and Technology
  • Sensors and Transducers
  • Big Data and Metrology
  • Image and Signal Processing
  • Software Development for Instrumentation.
  • Computational Intelligence Technology
  • Internet of Thing and Network of Sensors

This international seminar includes plenary speeches delivered by Keynote Speakers namely Prof. Ryota Nagasawa, Tattori University, Japan; Prof. Lee Yoke Heng, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia; Prof. Dr. Muhammad M. Hussain, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology; Prof. Bambang Kuswandi, Universitas Jember, Indonesia and Prof. Wisnu Jatmiko, Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia.

In addition to the Keynote Speaker, leading researchers and scientists from all over the world joined together to share the results of the latest research, as well as a presentation of the results of research participants who have been selected.

The participants were academics, researchers, students, practitioners from various industries and institutions from within and outside the country. The papers presented will go through a peer-reviewed process and selected papers will be published at IEEE Xplore Conference Proceeding indexed by Scopus.

This annual activity in physics and its application is a joint activity of the University of Indonesia (UI) with Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Tenth November Institute of Technology (ITS), and Airlangga University (UNAIR). Also, Instrumentation and Metrology (Puslit KIM-LIPI) and ISASS provided technical support for this seminar.

Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris said, “through this international seminar FMIPA UI contributed to improving the quality of international publications and the expertise of researchers in physics and its applied to encourage the development of physics at the international level”.

Previously, The 1st ISSIMM 2016 was held in Malang, Indonesia, on August 10th – 11th, 2016. Followed by The 2nd ISSIMM 2017 on August 25th – 26th, 2017, in Surabaya.

Dr.ing Cuk Imawan as the conference chairman said “ISSIMM 2018 aims to promote national and international collaboration as a research network related to these topics. As is known interest in this topic has grown rapidly in recent years. ” He also mentioned as many as 140 full papers on the topics presented had been collected.

This activity is expected to increase national and international research networks and collaboration in the future, as well as being scientifically useful and useful to the community.
