FMIPA UI Once Again Holds International Symposium in Mathematics and Science

FMIPA UI through the Research and Community Service Unit held an International Symposium entitled

“The 4th International Symposium on Current Progress in Mathematics and Sciences (The 4th ISCPMS 2018)”.

The event supported by Directorate of Research and Community Service UI took place on Oktober 30th  – 31st  2018 at The Margo Hotel, Depok and is the fourth year since the symposium was first held in 2015.

By carrying out the theme “Designing Basic Sciences for Implementing Development”, this symposium aims to build the network between scientists and collaborator from around the world and also become the forum for research development in the fields of Mathematics and Science, by sharing the new findings so that can produce variety of innovation that will benefit for the community.

The event began with remarks by the 2018 ISCPMS chief executive Dr. Ivandini T. Anggraningrum continued with remarks by Dr. techn. Djoko Triyono (Deputy Dean I of Education, Research and Student Affairs FMIPA UI) in this case represented the Dean of FMIPA UI Dr. rer nat Abdul Haris who was unable to attend.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. rer nat. Rosari Saleh (Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at the University of Indonesia) by beating a gong.

The symposium presented three main speakers from various disciplines, namely, Prof. Dr. Abdul Aziz Abdul Raman from the University of Malaya-Malaysia, Michinori Toriyama, Ph.D. from Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) -Japan, and Prof. Trevor Hoey from the University of Glasgow-United Kingdom. Also, several Invited Speakers fill presentation sessions in parallel classes.

The opening and plenary session of 4th ISCPMS 2018 was held together with the series of events of The 2nd Life and Environmental Academics Sciences Forum 2018 (The 2nd LEAF 2018). But the parallel presentation session was held on November 1st, 2018.

The Life and Environmental Academics Sciences Forum (LEAF) is a scientific meeting in the fields of Biology, Environment and Geoscience which has been twice held by FMIPA UI. This activity aims to bring together Scientists, Researchers and Academics to share experiences, discuss research results and solutions to various challenges faced.
